Food and Drink Matters is proud to present NAH Foods Ltd (NAH) as its Konjac Food Specialist Company of the Month.
The company, established in 2012, manufacture and supply high quality foods such as pasta, noodles, rice, ready meals and instant noodles using the distinctive Konjac ingredient. Their range is suitable for coeliacs and diabetics and has been approved by the European Food Safety Authority, but is principally known for aiding weight loss. Konjac, a variety of plant, originated from Asia and is typically used as a form of diet food, because it has almost no calories. It’s high in dietary fibre, which makes it an ideal component of weight loss supplements. NAH have utilised the ingredient for this purpose, producing a variety of products with zero carbohydrates, zero saturates and zero sugar. The lack of fats and calories make these konjac infused products part of an innovative slimming brand. The konjac products available from NAH come in different varieties; whether packaged for retail or catering purposes, they come in spaghetti, penne and fettuccine shapes or in the form of rice or noodles. Their ready meal range is a staple part of the brand because despite being mouth-wateringly good, they are low in calories and carbohydrates, so will fit in nicely with a structured diet plan. The 350g microwavable meals closely resemble the consistency and bite of typical spaghetti, and are made with a special konjac flour recipe. These dinners are filling enough to prevent cravings, making dieting easier and weight-loss faster. The uniqueness of the recipes place NAH firmly in the weight management industry and the gluten-free niche. Nayna Halai, founder of NAH, stated that it’s this exclusivity that acts as such a strong selling point, “We supply ready meals using a very innovative konjac recipe exclusive to the Slim Pasta brand. We also supply instant noodles using a unique packaging” NAH pride themselves on manufacturing premium quality goods; their products are made in the only BRC, IFS and organic certified facility in the world that produces organic konjac foods. Nayna commented, “Our facilities are new and customised in order to produce the highest of quality konjac foods in the market. Our konjac pasta, noodles and rice are made from an innovative recipe that gives our foods a better bite and texture compared to regular konjac pasta, noodles and rice.” NAH regularly attend trade shows, particularly exhibits specialising in natural and organic foods, such as Vitafoods Europe, the Anuga food fair and the SIAL food exhibition. Their warehouses are located in Portsmouth and Kingsbury, and the company have a solid partnership with Eat Water, the best-selling low calorie pasta, noodle and rice range. NAH Foods Ltd has a dedicated research and development team who work continuously on new products to improve the existing range and to conceptualise new innovative foods. The establishment plan to launch more unique meals in March, and have high hopes of becoming leaders in the weight loss food industry in the near future.
